About the role
The Project Scheduler will assist in the oversight and coordination of projects for a large electric utility client. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in scheduling complex projects and programs related to the planning, design, and construction of electrical grid infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Developing, maintaining, and driving engineering and construction schedules for various sized transmission & distribution projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities located throughout the United States
- Working with Project Management using earned value management techniques to ensure that schedule and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limits
- Closely partnering with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
- Developing and producing schedule weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review, which includes resource loading analysis and schedules, critical path items, and risk analysis
- Interfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, schedule, and risks across a portfolio of electrical distribution projects
- Aiding the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI tracking
Requirements/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or Finance
- Minimum of three (3) + years of relevant Primavera P6 scheduling experience
- Recent and in-depth knowledge of electric power infrastructure projects within transmission or distribution design
- Capability for planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasks
- Ability to track cost and schedule status of assigned tasks
- Effective interaction with customer representatives
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency utilizing MS Project and MS Office suite with a heavy emphasis on MS Excel
- Previous experience working with Louisville Gas & Electric and Kentucky Utilities is preferred, but not required
Background
This role is hybrid in nature, with remote working capabilities, however, periodic travel to client sites throughout Kentucky area including Louisville and Lexington may be required. Therefore, ideal candidates will be located in these areas.
