Project Safety Manager (SSHO) - Federal Construction
About the role
The Project Safety Manager will provide site safety leadership and oversight for an assigned project(s). They will function as an expert resource to project teams for consistent implementation of company safety standards and programs, provide project-wide safety training, support preconstruction safety planning, and perform jobsite safety auditing and incident investigating. Reporting to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager, they may also manage other Project Safety Managers assigned to the project(s).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee site safety for assigned projects.
- Provide expert guidance and resources for consistent safety implementation.
- Develop and deliver project-wide safety training sessions.
- Support the development and execution of preconstruction safety plans.
- Conduct jobsite safety audits and investigate incidents as needed.
Requirements
- Federal and/or USACE experience is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Management, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in construction safety management.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
