Job Summary

Reporting to and under general direction of the Interim Project Rebound Director, the Project Rebound Advisor performs a wide variety of complex Student Services Professional work in support of students who are currently or formerly incarcerated and experiencing housing insecurity or housing instability. The incumbent provides comprehensive advisement, case management, crisis response, outreach efforts, and referral services to assist students in securing and maintaining safe, stable housing while pursuing their educational goals. The position is responsible for assessing student needs; developing individualized support plans; coordinating access to campus, community, and public assistance resources; and providing ongoing support and follow-up services to address barriers impacting student retention, persistence, and well-being. As a member of the Project Rebound team within the Center for Academic Access and Student Enrichment (CAASE), the incumbent collaborates with university departments, community-based organizations, faculty, staff, and administrators to advocate for and support the academic and personal success of students who are currently or formerly incarcerated.

Key Qualifications

  • Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of three years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience. One year in the program area to which assigned may be preferred, but is not required.
  • This position requires the equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field, including upper division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job-related. A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of work experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and Google Suite required. Knowledge of databases and student information systems and PeopleSoft preferred.

Salary And Benefits

Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and will not exceed $5,540 a month. This is a full time, fixed-term, exempt position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations.
