Project Quality Manager

About the role

The Cross Carline and Project Engineering Team is a critical part of vehicle development, responsible for ensuring overall program-level feasibility and target setting. The Project Quality Manager oversees quality objectives for the vehicle program, carrying out the actions and activities necessary for their progress, consolidation, and management. This position ensures quality targets are met and team execution of quality processes from Pre-Contract Commitment through Start of Production and lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality customer objectives achievement for the vehicle(s) from concept until mass production.
• Produces monthly synthesis of results and an updated forecast on quality KPIs for the overall program and milestones.
• Drives engineering teams to address design anomalies detected on vehicles in the field or at the plant.
• Proposes and requests yard holds and campaigns; initializes requests for yard holds if necessary and fills in corresponding items needed to execute retrofit/rework (e.g., spare parts).
• Ensures quality deliverables are met for modifications done on vehicles in mass production.
• Organizes and manages root cause analysis for anomalies detected during development and start of mass production.
• Provides quality advice regarding proposed technical modifications (PEPP).
• Manages follow-up of results (product/process including APQP) and sets up preventive and corrective actions to meet quality deliverables.
• Establishes partnerships both internally and externally to influence without direct authority.
• Represents the "Voice of the Customer" to platform teams.
• Drives team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles.
• Demonstrates unwavering commitment to delivering results and champions achievements.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
• 8 years of automotive experience, preferably some in a plant quality environment.
• Broad quality knowledge.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present ideas and concepts successfully to all levels of management.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to productively manage change.
• Strong program management and team leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Program lifecycle experience.
• Experience in resident/quality engineering.
• Experience in various BICEEP disciplines.
