Project Planner

About the role

PALA Interstate, LLC seeks a Construction Estimator to prepare cost estimates and schedules for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Studies drawings, plans and specifications to understand the work required.
• Utilizes basic math skills including trigonometry for calculations.
• Performs “job walk” to assess work location and environment.
• Compiles lists of materials, tools, and workers needed.
• Coordinates with various professionals such as craftsmen, engineers, accountants, safety personnel, and attorneys.
• Provides job reviews and proposals to relevant personnel.
• Plans work sequences logically, discussing with clients and agreeing upon.
• Computes overall costs for materials, labor, and subcontracted work.
• Makes weekly/biweekly updates on all projects.
• Maintains effective communication with all parties involved.
• Uses basic computer skills to input information and generate reports.

Requirements

• Five years of field experience or a degree in construction management or engineering.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Experience with Inventor and AutoCAD R14 or higher.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, internet, and email applications.
• A valid Driver’s License and appropriate motor vehicle insurance.

Qualifications

Must maintain a valid Driver’s License and meet appropriate motor vehicle insurance requirements.

Skills

• Basic math skills including trigonometry.
• Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Products).
• Communication skills (verbal and written).
• Project coordination and management.
• Understanding of various professional roles and their functions.
