About the role

Hazen and Sawyer is seeking a Project Manager with 10+ years of experience in planning, designing, permitting, and constructing drinking water and wastewater-related projects. The position involves leading client development and management, supported by regional offices and firm-wide technical resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project management
  • Supervising staff
  • Leading business development activities including proposal preparation and presentations
  • High-level client development and management in the Nashville, TN office
  • Preparation of assessment and design reports
  • Performing design calculations
  • Equipment sizing/selection
  • Preparation of construction documents and support for construction management/commissioning
  • The primary focus will be projects in Tennessee
  • Fieldwork and site visits from planning through construction may be required with occasional travel

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in the water/wastewater field
  • Experience managing interdisciplinary teams to meet client needs
  • Experience in successfully delivering projects with collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in planning, design, and construction for municipal water and wastewater treatment facilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively with staff, clients, and regulatory agencies
  • Self-starter with attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in all MS Office-based computer software
  • PE license required (TN preferred or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of employment)
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
