Project Manager, Water Resources

About the role

At RK&K, we are currently hiring a Licensed Project Manager to join our Water Resources Transportation Division in Columbia, South Carolina. The ideal candidate will support company-wide efforts in stormwater management and drainage design for transportation related projects.

Essential Functions

• Develop and deliver industry leading stormwater management strategies for transportation projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines
• Conduct drainage design activities, including the analysis of existing drainage systems, designing new drainage systems and ditches, and creating appropriate plans
• Utilize hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS and SRH 2D to model major bridge and culvert crossings
• Employ software tools such as GEOPAK Drainage, HY-8, Hydraulic Toolbox and SEMM, to design and analyze pipe networks and culverts
• Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations related to drainage design and stormwater management, contributing to the project deliverables and progress reporting
• Perform permit sketches, construction documents, specifications and cost estimates as needed
• Perform scour analysis
• Perform field investigations to collect data, take field measurements, photographs, sketches, and verifying surveys

Required Skills And Experience

• Minimum of Five (5) years of experience as a Civil Engineer supporting transportation projects
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Advanced knowledge of drainage design, H&H modeling and stormwater management
• Proficient with industry software: MicroStation, HEC-RAS, SWMM
• Experience supporting SCDOT and other local South Carolina agencies
