Project Manager - Tunnels and Trenchless
About the role
The Grade 6-7 Senior Project Manager – Tunnels and Trenchless role at GEI is a senior-level position designed for professionals with extensive experience in tunnel and trenchless design, as well as geotechnical, geological, and geo-structural projects. The role involves managing projects valued from $100k to over $1M, overseeing project scopes, fees, schedules, and invoices, and leading teams through various stages of project management.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
Manage tunnel and trenchless projects, as well as geotechnical, geological, and geo-structural projects within the United States.
Develop proposals and manage project scope, fee, schedules, and invoices.
Perform and/or oversee and review geotechnical and structural design calculations using various software tools such as GeoStudio, RocScience, and finite element modeling.
Direct and mentor staff in conducting data collection and analysis to support engineering designs, including geotechnical investigations like subsurface investigations, well construction, field mapping, geophysics, permitting, and field work.
Create design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and/or GIS software as needed.
Prepare technical reports, including technical memorandums, specifications, geotechnical investigation reports, tunnel feasibility reports, geotechnical data reports, geotechnical baseline reports, construction cost estimates, basis of design reports, etc.
Develop business sectors by participating in conferences and professional groups related to geotechnical, tunnel, trenchless, geo-structural, and geologic engineering.
Minimum Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE), Geologist (PG), or equivalent certification.
15-20 years of experience in underground construction and design for civil structures, material sciences, fluid dynamics, geologic hazards, soil and rock mechanics, engineering geology, and engineering (civil, geotechnical, or structural).

Pay Range
$150,000.00 – $190,000.00/year
