About the role
The ideal candidate will bring civil engineering design experience with a focus on delivering and/or managing projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Candidates’ experience should include a leading technical approach and delivery of roadway tasks, and/or leading delivery of transportation design projects for FDOT, with Districts 1, 5 and 7 preferable.
Responsibilities
- Works under a Transportation Team Leader in the development of roadway design projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
- Works closely with the other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways
- Manages transportation projects or tasks in support of business needs
- Aids in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT’s, and technical staff
- Aids in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
- Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
- Reports on project progress
- Collaborates with clients and other consultants
- Works with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Manager in business development activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil, public works or transportation project delivery, with at least 6 years’ post PE License preferred
- Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida
- Demonstrated ability to design and review in MicroStation
- Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
