About the role
The Project Manager (PE) position at Halff is ideal for a licensed Texas PE with a strong background in roadway design. This role offers an excellent career development opportunity with potential for business and personal growth, as well as ownership within the firm.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage roadway/transportation design projects from planning through delivery
- Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders to ensure project success
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers, EITs, and support staff
- Ensure project deliverables meet design standards, quality expectations, and client requirements
- Build and maintain strong client relationships and support ongoing client satisfaction
- Review plans and deliverables for accuracy, quality, and consistency
- Assist with proposal development, RFQs, and business development efforts
- Partner with Transportation leadership on project delivery and strategic growth initiatives
- Maintain project performance, including budget tracking and schedule adherence
- Support QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and Halff expectations
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas
- 8+ years of experience in roadway project development (TXDOT and/or municipal projects preferred)
- Strong experience in roadway design and plan production
- Proficiency in OpenRoads
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects from start to finish
- Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Experience working with local agencies and regulatory requirements
- Commitment to quality, integrity, and client service
- Primavera (P6) experience is a plus
Qualifications
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
