About the role

The Project Manager (PE) position at Halff is ideal for a licensed Texas PE with a strong background in roadway design. This role offers an excellent career development opportunity with potential for business and personal growth, as well as ownership within the firm.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage roadway/transportation design projects from planning through delivery
  • Oversee project scope, budgets, schedules, and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to Engineers, EITs, and support staff
  • Ensure project deliverables meet design standards, quality expectations, and client requirements
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and support ongoing client satisfaction
  • Review plans and deliverables for accuracy, quality, and consistency
  • Assist with proposal development, RFQs, and business development efforts
  • Partner with Transportation leadership on project delivery and strategic growth initiatives
  • Maintain project performance, including budget tracking and schedule adherence
  • Support QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and Halff expectations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Texas
  • 8+ years of experience in roadway project development (TXDOT and/or municipal projects preferred)
  • Strong experience in roadway design and plan production
  • Proficiency in OpenRoads
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage projects from start to finish
  • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
  • Experience working with local agencies and regulatory requirements
  • Commitment to quality, integrity, and client service
  • Primavera (P6) experience is a plus

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
