About the role

Overview Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager to expand our Rail & Transit practice in Baltimore, MD!

Responsibilities

• Entrepreneurial spirit, creating a vision for the Rail & Transit practice while facilitating the growth of the regional US‑based transit practice.
• Transit practice engaged in the planning, design, and implementation of transit services and facilities throughout the country, with a focus on local transit providers to envision, study, plan, design, engineer, manage, and implement new services, service expansions, and service/technology enhancements.
• Ability to pursue own passions, leads, and clients beyond serving existing clients.
• Operating with integrity and sound business principles.
• Providing vision, business planning and strategy.
• Establishing goals.
• Building and maintaining positive client relationships.
• Maintaining open communication with partners and team.
• Growing and leading a Rail & Transit practice.
• Managing projects profitably, transitioning work to qualified staff, growing and mentoring staff, and acting as a positive leader and mentor.
• Given considerable autonomy to lead, direct, and grow the business.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of transit experience in growing and leading a transit practice.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Track record of successfully winning and delivering work in the local area.
• Recognized rail industry leader with a strong technical background in rail design.
• Proven track record of winning and delivering work for passenger rail and transit agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage Rail & Transit projects profitably through agency specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and technical skills.
• Strong desire and ability to be engaged with clients solving project problems.
