Responsibilities
- Assume full ownership and accountability for multiple engineering initiatives, setting clear objectives and direction for cross-functional teams.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, adhere to policies, procedures, and standard work processes.
- Absorb and assist Product Management and/or Program Manager in completing project charters outlining scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and timing per the roles and responsibilities guidelines in VPG-001.
- Lead, inspire, and mentor project members, fostering collaboration, creative thinking, and a high-performance culture to achieve project milestones and objectives.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, to gather requirements, manage expectations, and ensure seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle.
- Create presentations and confidently present and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Identify potential risks and challenges early in the project, developing proactive mitigation plans to minimize disruptions and maintain project progress.
- Ensure quality control measures are being utilized to meet standards, regulatory requirements, and project scope expectations.
- Analyze project performance and identify areas for improvement through lessons learned during each milestone, process enhancements and best practices, promoting efficiency and excellence in the new product development process.
- Collaborate to develop tools and best practices for project management and execution.
Qualifications And Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related technical discipline preferred and/or 5+ years of extensive experience in project management.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager in Product Development, with a track record of successfully launching products to market.
- Project Management Certification or degree (e.g., PMP or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
- Analytical mindset and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to facilitate productive discussions and reach consensus.
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of the manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and BOM’s.
- Experience in MRP/ERP Systems.
- Proficient in the use of electronic systems and software (Microsoft Office, Project Management software, etc).
- Willing to be flexible in schedule and travel to ensure customer value is obtained by evaluating product performance in the field.
