About the role
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager Support Professional to assist in delivering major rail and transit capital programs in the Bay Area, including support for projects with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).
Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers in coordinating tasks and project activities within large capital programs.
- Support tracking of project scope, schedule, and budget by collecting updates and preparing summaries.
- Aid in organizing project processes and maintaining execution plans developed by senior PMs.
- Prepare meeting materials, take notes, track action items, and help coordinate internal and external communications.
- Maintain productive working relationships with BART staff and partner agencies as directed by senior PMs.
- Support review of project deliverables for completeness and formatting, raising issues to PMs as needed.
- Help monitor consultant and contractor submittals, logs, and progress reports.
- Assist with task assignments, workflow tracking, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
- Support proposal coordination activities, including gathering inputs and assembling proposal documents.
- Prepare project documentation such as reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and status summaries.
- Collaborate with contractors, consultants, and technical teams to gather information and support coordinated project delivery.
- Provide occasional support or guidance to junior staff on administrative or coordination tasks.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree and 3 years of relevant experience, or demonstrated equivalency of education and experience.
- Prior exposure to or experience working with BART projects, processes, or teams is required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, project management, business, or a related field.
- 5+ years supporting project coordination or project delivery for transportation/transit initiatives.
- Experience working with public agencies and understanding structured project delivery processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize complex information, track tasks, and manage competing priorities.
- Experience supporting schedule updates, budget tracking, or performance reporting.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues and elevate them to PM staff.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and standard collaboration platforms.
- Experience with Primavera P6 is helpful.
Benefits
The offered rate of compensation is $85,000 to $140,000 per year.
