Project ManagementFull-time

About the role

We are recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee substation, electrical utility, and transmission & distribution construction projects. This is a hands-on project leadership role for someone who understands the contractor side of the business and has successfully managed projects from pursuit and preconstruction through field execution and closeout. The ideal candidate comes from an electrical contractor, EPC contractor, utility contractor, or T&D/substation construction environment and has direct experience managing the construction of substations and related electrical infrastructure. This position requires someone who can take full ownership of project performance and thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage substation and electrical utility construction projects from preconstruction through completion, with responsibility for schedule, cost, quality, safety, and overall project performance.
  • Oversee construction involving substations, high-voltage electrical infrastructure, transmission and distribution systems, and associated civil and electrical scopes.
  • Participate in project pursuits, estimating, bid reviews, scope development, contract negotiations, and project turnover.
  • Coordinate field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, customers, engineering teams, utilities, and internal operations throughout construction.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting, billing, procurement, change orders, claims, cost controls, and financial reporting.
  • Proactively identify project risks, resolve field and contractual issues, and keep projects moving according to schedule.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of project management or construction management experience within substation construction, electrical construction, EPC, utility contracting, or transmission & distribution.
  • Direct experience managing substation and/or high-voltage electrical infrastructure construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience owning the complete project management process, including financial performance and field execution.
  • Experience pursuing, estimating, bidding, or competing for construction work, rather than solely managing projects from an owner's perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost management, forecasting, change management, contracts, procurement, and construction operations.
  • Proven ability to lead field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.

Compensation

  • Highly competitive compensation package.
  • Performance-based incentive opportunity.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Long-term career growth with an expanding organization.
