About the role
The Senior Project Manager at CR Meyer plays a crucial role in the planning, budgeting, construction, and post-construction phases of heavy industrial projects. This position requires extensive experience in estimating and managing such projects, along with a strong foundation in construction principles.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all project goals and objectives are met within CR Meyer’s safety guidelines and designated quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Provides leadership to the project team and collaborates with heavy industrial/manufacturing customers and the CR Meyer Design/Build team.
- Prepares and provides bids to customers using approved design specifications, follows up on bid proposals, and executes all necessary paperwork to secure project commitments.
- Establishes budgets, timelines, and overall project goals, and oversees the implementation of the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan.
- Manages permits and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, conducts routine site visits, reviews budget status, determines progress, and communicates with the on-site team and project team.
- Develops the project team, schedules and manages subcontractors and vendors, ensures availability of all required equipment, tools, supplies, and resources, prepares purchase orders, oversees labor hours, expense sheets, invoicing, and receivables management.
- Communicates with customers, project team, field staff, subcontractors, and other interested parties to ensure projects stay within specifications, schedule, and budget until completion.
- Tracks and communicates productivity factors with the site leadership team or site supervision, documents these factors for future reference, and uses CR Meyer provided software to prepare required documents and project management updates.
- Ensures proper QA/QC standards and procedures are implemented and adhered to, and works with the Design/Build team on “means and methods” engineering controls.
- Oversees the preparation of the final project punch list for customer review and ensures its proper completion, and documents completed projects for future reference.
- Wears all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) and complies with CR Meyer’s safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Eight to twelve years of experience in estimating and managing heavy industrial construction projects, with an emphasis on equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred, but a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and Primavera is required.
- Ability to complete CR Meyer training and adhere to safety guidelines, including First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30, and SafeStart.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
- Valid driver’s license, insurable driving history, and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and according to traffic laws.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States.
