About the role

The Senior Project Manager at CR Meyer plays a crucial role in the planning, budgeting, construction, and post-construction phases of heavy industrial projects. This position requires extensive experience in estimating and managing such projects, with a focus on equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all project goals and objectives are met within CR Meyer’s safety guidelines and designated quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Provides leadership to the project team and collaborates with heavy industrial/manufacturing customers and the CR Meyer Design/Build team.
  • Prepares and provides bids to customers using approved design specifications, follows up on bid proposals, and executes all necessary paperwork to secure project commitments.
  • Establishes budgets, timelines, and overall project goals, and oversees the implementation of the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan.
  • Manages permits and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, conducts routine site visits, reviews budget status, determines progress, and communicates with the project team and on-site staff.
  • Develops the project team to include subcontractors and vendors, schedules their services, ensures all assigned equipment, tools, supplies, and resources are available, prepares purchase orders (POs), oversees labor hours, expense sheets, invoicing, and manages receivables.
  • Communicates with customers, project team, field staff, subcontractors, and other interested parties to ensure projects stay within specifications, schedule, and budget until completion.
  • Tracks and communicates productivity factors with the site leadership team or site supervision, documents these factors for future reference, and uses CR Meyer provided software to prepare required documents and project management updates.
  • Ensures proper QA/QC standards and procedures are implemented and adhered to within CR Meyer guidelines, works with the Design/Build team on engineering controls, and oversees the preparation of the final project punch list for customer review.
  • Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times and completes all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • Eight to twelve years of experience in estimating and managing heavy industrial construction projects, with an emphasis on equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred, but a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and Primavera is required.
  • Ability to complete CR Meyer training and adhere to safety guidelines, including but not limited to First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30, and SafeStart.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable driving history, and ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and in accordance with traffic laws.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
  • Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States as required.
