About the role
The Senior Project Manager contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy industrial customers throughout the planning, budgeting, construction, and post-construction project phases. This role ensures all project goals and objectives are accomplished within CR Meyer’s safety guidelines, as well as designated quality, schedule, and budget requirements. The Senior Project Manager provides leadership to the project team and collaborates with heavy industrial/manufacturing customers and the CR Meyer Design/Build team to ensure customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and provide bids to customers using approved design specifications, follow up on proposals, and execute all paperwork to secure project commitments.
- Establish budgets, timelines, and overall goals for construction project execution.
- Implement the CR Meyer Risk Control Plan, lead safety efforts on job sites, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Obtain all necessary permits and conduct routine site visits to review budget status, progress, and safety/compliance standards.
- Develop the project team, including subcontractors and vendors, and manage their services, schedules, and resources.
- Prepare purchase orders, oversee labor hours, expense sheets, invoicing, and receivables management.
- Provide periodic updates and communicate with customers, project teams, field staff, and subcontractors to ensure projects stay within specifications, schedule, and budget.
- Track and communicate productivity factors, document them for future reference, and use CR Meyer-provided software for project management updates.
- Ensure proper QA/QC standards and procedures are implemented and work with the Design/Build team on “means and methods” engineering controls.
- Oversee the preparation of the final project punch list for customer review and ensure proper completion.
- Document completed projects for future reference and represent the CR Meyer brand professionally at all times.
- Wear all assigned PPE, observe safety guidelines, and complete all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Eight to twelve years of experience in estimating and managing heavy industrial construction projects, with an emphasis on equipment installation/erection and civil/structural work.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred; a combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Projects, and Primavera.
- Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines, including First Aid/CPR Certification, OSHA 30, and SafeStart.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
- Valid driver’s license, insurable driving history, and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe driving habits.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States.
