About the role

The Health IT Project Manager will lead the planning, procurement support, and implementation of a State-sponsored Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution as part of Rhode Island's Rural Health Transformation Project (RHTP). This role is responsible for managing a highly complex, multi-year Health IT initiative that aims to provide rural healthcare providers with access to a centralized EHR platform that meets federal, state, and interoperability requirements while reducing costs through a shared-services model.

Working under the direction of the State Health IT Coordinator and senior EOHHS leadership, the Project Manager will oversee vendor contracts, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure the successful execution of planning and implementation activities. The individual will manage requirements gathering, landscape assessments, gap analyses, market evaluations, procurement support, and ultimately the deployment of the selected EHR platform across participating rural healthcare organizations.

This position serves as the primary liaison among state agencies, contracted vendors, healthcare providers, and technology partners to ensure project milestones, deliverables, timelines, and compliance requirements are met. The Project Manager will also provide subject matter expertise in enterprise healthcare software implementations, interoperability, clinical data standards, and outcomes reporting.
