Project Manager - Roadway

About the Role

Kokosing is seeking a Project Manager for heavy highway and bridge construction projects in the Richmond, Virginia region. This role plans, directs, and coordinates activities to ensure project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames and funding parameters.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frames, funding limitations, procedures, staffing requirements, and resource allocation for various project phases.
• Establishes work plans and staffing for each project phase, including recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• Confers with project staff to outline work plans, assign duties, responsibilities, and authority.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Reviews status reports from project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as needed.
• Prepares project reports for management, clients, or other stakeholders.
• Provides technical advice and resolves problems with project personnel.
• Coordinates project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
• Analyzes and executes CPM-based project schedules.
• Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Interviews and hires project personnel.
• Trains, plans, assigns, and directs work for project teams.
• Appraises performance, rewards, and disciplines employees.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

Requirements

• Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related degree preferred.
• 10+ years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination).
