Project Manager | Retail Construction

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in ground-up commercial construction to join the team in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This role is critical due to upcoming project demands. The ideal candidate will step in quickly to manage existing projects, as well as act as the lead for new builds in the pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from early stages through to closeout.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with permitting authorities and ensure compliance with local regulations.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including APMs, superintendents, and labor crews.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules.
• Demonstrate exceptional business judgement by consistently delivering profitable outcomes and achieving successful project closeouts while maintaining strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.

Requirements

• Strong project management experience within commercial construction, ideally having worked on retail builds.
• Strong knowledge of local permitting processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field.
