Project Manager – Pulp, Power & Recovery Capital Projects

What You Will Do

Successfully manage multiple capital projects ($10MM - $50MM) across full lifecycle (P0–P6)
Develop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, schedule, budget and risk management
Lead cross-functional teams spanning engineering, maintenance, operations, finance, safety, and construction
Foster alignment across internal stakeholders and external partners; ensure all parties are aligned on project requirements, scope, and deliverables
Drive FEL development and execution readiness (P0-P3)
Ensure alignment with mill and business leadership
Facilitate project reviews, status reporting, executive updates, and stakeholder communications
Oversee detailed design, contractor coordination, outage execution, and startup (P4-P6)
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Manage and control objective and scope changes
Deliver projects that meet business case and performance expectations

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management or Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or related)
  • 4+ years of progressive project management experience.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering and construction teams
  • Knowledge of project management practices within a phase gate process
  • Ability to travel at least 80% to support project development, execution, outages, startups, and mill engagement

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in pulp & paper, power, or utility systems
  • Experience with brownfield capital projects
  • Experience with maintenance outages
  • Experience with different project execution and project delivery models
  • Advanced degree: MBA or Master’s in Engineering
  • Advanced credentials: PMP, Professional Engineer, or other relevant certifications
