Expand your technical and organizational expertise as a Project Manager for North America, leading Pulp, Energy, and Circularity (PEC) projects at customer facilities across the region. We seek candidates with experience in mechanical, controls, or chemical engineering, along with strong commercial and business acumen.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the main contact and liaison with the customer for the entire project scope, including Valmet’s external partners.
- Establish and maintain a proactive customer relationship throughout project execution.
- Define the project organization and identify resource needs in a matrix environment, sourcing from respective discipline line organizations.
- Perform active project and product risk and opportunity management.
- Oversee the project’s main schedule and coordinate subsidiary schedules.
- Manage project budgets to secure and improve margins.
- Act as a role model for HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality) matters within the project team.
- Handle warranty issues during the contractual warranty period.
- Communicate project feedback internally and summarize lessons learned.
- Manage stakeholder communications and reporting (internal and external).
- Support sales in technical proposal development from a Project Management perspective, ensuring project deliverability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Pulp and Paper Engineering, or a closely related field (or equivalent education/experience).
- Preferred experience participating in or leading capital and improvement machinery projects with multi-cultural and multi-discipline teams.
- Minimum of 5 years of industry-related Project Management experience.
- Travel required: estimated at 25%–50%.
- Must be living and authorized to work in the U.S.; no domestic or international relocation assistance provided.
