About the role

The Project Manager will support and lead planning initiatives across transportation, hazard mitigation, and community-focused projects. This role involves managing planning processes from concept through delivery, coordinating with public agencies and stakeholders, overseeing schedules and deliverables, and producing high-quality technical and plain-language documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support multi-disciplinary planning projects, including transportation planning, hazard mitigation planning, and community-based initiatives
  • Cook up project schedules, scopes, budgets, and staff assignments to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables
  • Lead and participate in public engagement activities such as open houses, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and one-on-one discussions with community partners
  • Develop, review, and manage planning documents, reports, policies, and guidance materials for public agencies and community stakeholders
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, facilitating clear communication, managing expectations, and supporting long-term relationships
  • Collaborate with federal, state, regional, and local agencies to ensure projects align with applicable regulations, policies, and funding requirements
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and synthesis using local, state, and federal sources to inform planning recommendations
  • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and mapping tools to support analysis and presentation of planning data
  • Track trends, risks, and common gaps in planning efforts to identify opportunities for technical assistance, process improvement, and training
  • Support proposal development, including technical writing, scope development, and coordination with project teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in planning land services, or infrastructure consulting
  • American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification
  • Strong background in stakeholder engagement and project coordination
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with municipal or public-sector clients preferred
