Job Duties
- Manage planning, design, and construction of capital projects, including new buildings and renovations at applicable enterprise location.
- Cook up and oversee both external contractors and in-house maintenance staff during construction and renovation activities.
- Develop, maintain, and take accountability for project scope, schedule, and budget in alignment with client needs and organizational goals.
- Aid in preparation and management of contracts for architectural and engineering consultants and oversee design activities through construction administration.
- Lead bidding, award, and construction execution processes to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Oversee ancillary project components such as telecommunications/data coordination and relocation services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering.
- 5 years directly related experience in healthcare or higher education capital project management.
- Strong working knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems in healthcare, laboratory, and medical office environments.
- Awareness of current industry trends and emerging technologies in MEP design.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit for basic tasks and file manipulation.
- Proficient in project management software including eBuilder, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
- Working knowledge of building codes relevant to healthcare and research facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering, architectural, construction management, facilities management, or related certificates, licenses, and registrations.
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry 25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting/standing.
- Frequent keyboard use.
- Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
