KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS Job Description Job Title: Project Manager- Operations Job Title Code: 02290 Salary Grade: S634 starts at $61,043 Department: Operations Reports to: Officer of Facilities & Construction FLSA Status: Exempt Date Prepared: August 2026 Position Summary Implement, manage, coordinate, and ensure successful and timely completion of KCPS projects in coordination with multiple departments. Assesses project risk on a regular basis, taking appropriate action to ensure project objectives are timely and successfully met. What You'll Be Doing: (Responsibilities) Provides project management skills for the Facilities Department and any other projects across the district including, but not limited to, project planning, leading cross-functional teams in implementation, etc.Create and distribute draft agendas, provide advance materials, and execute follow-up for meetings and events. Extensively document project related activities and findings, quantify results, and communicate project results and conclusions to stakeholders, collaborators, and district leaders. Conduct rigorous data analysis and external research to support leadership decision-making regarding projects and priorities.Work with executive staff and others to ensure project priorities are in alignment with the District's core goals.Manage data collection and dissemination for special projects and make sure data is updated, timely, and relevant.Performs project management duties, including planning, prioritizing, and coordinating.Determines and deploys resources required to successfully complete projects on schedule and within budget, ensuring project objectives fulfilled.Maintains and provides regular comprehensive status reports and project schedules.Builds relationships and liaises with various central office departments, school leaders, teachers, and community partners as appropriate.Leads and/or attends various meetings to communicate information, advise, recommend and make presentations created to present technical proposals/plans/documentation. Coordinate the development, submission, and tracking of Board items for construction projects. Oversee the implementation and ongoing administration of the work order system.Plan, coordinate, and monitor construction-related projects, maintaining project schedules, tracking progress, and ensuring adherence to established timelines and deadlines.Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Minimum Qualifications) Minimum of 60 College Hours or equivalent relevant field experience Experience in Business, Construction, Engineering or related field2 years experience in Project Management or equivalentStrong organizational and interpersonal skills, including keen attention to detail, and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines. Must possess a Valid Driver’s License and maintain a clean motor vehicle record that meets District safety standardsExceptional writing and oral communication skills. Excellent time-management and a willingness to work non-standard hours.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including word, powerpoint, and excel. Job requires the employee occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Visual ability requires mono and color vision, close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Terms Of Employment Length of work year: In person, 12 months, 260 days (7.5 hours per day/5 days per week) Benefits: Health and Dental Insurance are provided.
