Project Manager, Northern Region

About the role

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) seeks a Project Manager to serve as the key representative for select counties of the Northern Indiana Region. This role focuses on managing and negotiating economic development projects, fostering relationships, and providing technical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Manage and negotiate competitive expansion and business attraction projects, focusing on attracting new companies and creating new job opportunities for Hoosiers.
• Build and maintain relationships with economic development partners within the State and specifically within the Northern Indiana Region.
• Visit local businesses, local elected officials, and development-related organizations to assess needs and identify opportunities for the IEDC and communicate requirements for assistance programs.
• Maintain awareness of activities within the assigned region and report any items of interest or concern to IEDC leadership.
• Attend conferences, meetings, and events concerning business development and related economic development issues, particularly within Northern Indiana.
• Provide technical assistance to identify appropriate IEDC programs and complete the program applications for business attraction and expansion projects.
• Update the IEDC CRM database regularly with project and client-related information.
• Support the Business Development leadership on projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience in fields such as Economic Development, Community Development, Urban Planning, Real Estate Sales and/or Development, Sales/Business Development, or core industries like aerospace and defense, manufacturing, life sciences, logistics, information technology, microelectronics, mobility.
• Experience in economic development or a related field, with 1-3 years preferred.
• Preferred: International Business Development experience.
• Knowledge of core industries in Indiana, regional community and business development organizations, state economic development laws and trends, and Indiana government structure.
• Ability to identify leverage in business deals, negotiate complex transactions, lead unified responses, plan site tours, analyze business and community needs, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Pay

$63,787 – $66,000, commensurate with education and work experience.

Schedule

Frequent travel within the Northern Indiana Region and occasionally on IEDC-sponsored/sanctioned domestic sales trips.
