About the role

Strong project managers are essential to our success. We're looking for a pro to support our growing Municipal Wastewater Team. In this role, you will lead some of the industry's best engineers while executing highly technical, complex projects including wastewater treatment facility, lift station, and sewer system design/construction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams through challenging requirements and overlapping schedules.
  • Provide leadership and guidance through all aspects of engineering projects from concept to completion, including overall safety, quality, engineering, procurement, construction, permitting, project controls, and public/community relations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout each project, building a relationship as a trusted partner as the project progresses.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules, manage scope, and plan for the financial success of your projects.
  • Communicate project progress, cost and schedule metrics, design questions, and project challenges requiring additional support to department management.
  • Provide performance feedback for project team members as appropriate.
  • Manage the review, negotiation, approval, and execution of prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders.
  • Work to proactively identify and position Burns & McDonnell for upcoming projects and opportunities; utilize business development skills to lead proposals, win new projects, and increase existing client base.
  • Leverage existing client relationships and focus on repeat work within each client account.
  • Provide guidance and industry feedback or trends to the water leadership team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related degree from accredited program required. Minimum of 7 years of related experience (10 years preferred).
  • Completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Previous consulting experience preferred.
  • Professional Registration preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in project management strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience on construction project sites or executing program management in the industries of aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, process, transmission & distribution, or water is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence, lead and manage change thoughtfully and positively strongly desired.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding work environment, ability to work overtime on short notice.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Strong experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software.

Pay

$140,000.00 - $225,000.00 yearly. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
