About the role
This role provides project leadership and strategic direction to the facility using Georgia-Pacific's Principle Based Management™ Framework. The position involves developing and managing project scopes, organizing and executing various project phases, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Develop investment proposals, scopes of work, estimates, execution plans, and related materials
- Organize and execute design, construction/installation, commissioning, start-up, and documentation activities
- Track project costs and report progress
- Lead multi-discipline teams, external engineering firms, and vendors
- Ensure capable field technical support and construction management resources are in place
- Partner closely with purchasing and procurement resources
- Ensure compliance with internal and external safety and environmental standards and practices
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering or technical field
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry
- A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience successfully leading and implementing engineering projects
- Able and willing to travel up to 15% of the time to support other MDF facilities (project dependent)
Qualifications
- Proficiency with MS Project software
- Proficiency with AutoCAD software
- Experience with Ecosys project management software
- Experience in the MDF industry
- 7+ years’ experience in a manufacturing industry
- PMP Certification
