About the role
Tallgrass is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee and execute a broad range of water facility projects including pipelines, storage, processing, and disposal. The ideal candidate will coordinate with various Tallgrass commercial and operational groups, manage projects ensuring safety, reliability, and environmental impact, and communicate project goals to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects to meet safety, reliability, and environmental standards.
- Create and adhere to project plans, including setting milestones and deadlines.
- Delegate tasks to resources, internally or externally, to ensure project success.
- Make decisions on project execution based on changing requirements or financing.
- Communicate project goals and objectives to customers, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Ensure project documentation is accurate and compliant with corporate, federal, and state policies.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to upper management, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide accurate monthly project cash flow forecasts.
- Support the bidding process to ensure competitive and effective costing.
- Perform quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Adjust project schedules and budgets as needed.
- Advise management on project progress and develop strategies for necessary adjustments.
- Recognize and promote ideas that improve safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Interact with operations personnel during project phases to facilitate smooth transitions.
- Maintain a high regard for personal and company safety, and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Travel 10-15% across a broad geographic region to support project needs.
Requirements
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management, or equivalent, along with at least 8 years of relevant job experience. Minimum of 6 years of experience in major project environments, including engineering or project management of natural gas or hazardous liquid projects. Must have full project management skills, including project scoping, estimating, and execution. Must have executed at least one major capital project with a Total Installed Cost of more than $100 million.

- Full complement of project management skills, including project scoping and estimating, cost and schedule control, design and construction management, team building, resource planning, procurement procedures, and permitting.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to develop concepts and work in partnership with Tallgrass Commercial personnel.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and results to business segment leaders and customers.
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily work, including tracking and managing large projects, and to see projects to completion while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Understanding of corporate policies, procedures, practices, and processes related to the Pipeline business segment.
- Basic understanding of economic analysis as it pertains to project justification.
- Ability to identify and establish expectations in an employee/employer relationship.
