Tasks/Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day management of the project, identifies issues and risks, and recommends possible issue and risk mitigation strategies associated with the project;
- Acts as a facilitator between a State agency and an IT contractor. Is responsible for ensuring that work performed under TOs is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget.
- Identifies critical paths, tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria;
- Provides solutions to improve efficiency (e.g., reduce costs while maintaining or improving performance levels);
- Makes up-to-date status reports regarding issues and provides resolutions.
Education
- A degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related discipline is required.
- A master's degree or project management certification is preferred.
General Experience
- The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in project management.
- Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be capable of negotiating and making binding decisions in the best interest of the project.
Specialized Experience
- The proposed candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience in managing IT-related projects.
- Must demonstrate a leadership role in at least three (3) successful projects that were delivered on time and on budget.
Preferred Experience
- Direct project experience managing or supporting a designated Major IT Development Project (MITDP) within a State Government framework is highly preferred and a significant plus.
- Experience implementing enterprise-level healthcare case management systems, ideally supporting public health initiatives, government assistance programs, or Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program structures (such as MADAP or CHIPS).
