About the role

The Project Manager will act as a tactical leadership and support function for Operations, focusing on the largest contract value projects (including those deemed high risk). This role serves as a senior escalation point for the PM community, partnering with local Operations Management and assigned project PMs to resolve intensified issues. The Sr. Project Manager ensures all contracted work is developed, implemented, installed, and managed in accordance with the Company’s requirements for safety, quality, management, and financial performance. The role also includes mentoring and coaching the PM community throughout project engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, support, and report on high-profile and high-risk projects, focusing on risk management, profit margin protection, efficient implementation, safety, quality, and client experience.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to proactively address challenges during project execution.
  • Engage in significant project escalations from any operations branch/department/program and remain involved until resolution or stabilization.
  • Track project financials, statistics, key performance indicators, and forecasting to monitor performance.
  • Mentor and coach partnering Project Managers to enhance their development and skillset.
  • Represent the PMO in “Pre-Con/Ops Handoff” and “Ops Implementation” meetings for Tier 5 levels.
  • Manage workload distribution and monitor customer delivery and job installation progress.
  • Plan, manage, monitor, and maintain project profitability to achieve Company goals.
  • Review job cost postings for accuracy and completeness, including invoice preparation, customer collections, and financial reporting.
  • Manage quality and safety issues on customer work.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate the bid process.
  • Act as the Company liaison for customer interactions.
  • Create, develop, and implement account process improvements.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated, positive, and professional with leadership skills to drive project process improvements.
  • Proven problem-solving, critical thinking, and oral/written presentation skills.
  • High skill level in interpreting blueprints and project documents, including specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to travel to jobsites as needed.
  • Ability to learn Company and customer project management systems.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain a Company-sponsored American Express Card.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in telecommunications or a related technical/construction field.
  • Experience Project Managing large and complex projects (+$1M).
  • Experience with formal scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Wrike, Smartsheet, Excel).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a project, create a scope of work, develop tasks, and manage to final completion and customer turnover.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft Teams.
  • Must meet Company minimum driving standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience in customer and General Contractor interactions.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
