A Day in the Life

Your day may start with check-ins—whether with your internal design team, field subcontractors, or regional leadership discussing regulatory developments. You might negotiate contracts with key clients, leveraging your expertise in scope, risk, and value to set the tone for long-term success. Afternoons could involve developing a project recovery plan, leading a working session with project managers to improve technical performance, or reviewing financial reports. By day’s end, you may prep for a go/no-go evaluation or contribute to a proposal for a major new opportunity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in applied sciences, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in applied sciences, engineering, or construction.
• 10+ years of direct project management experience.
• Proven success managing complex, multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
• Strong command of project controls, including Opportunity Charters, PM Plans, Risk Registries, and MS Project (or equivalent scheduling tools).
• Demonstrated ability to plan, budget, and deliver projects on time, on budget, and in compliance.
• Skilled in financial reporting—budgets, revenue forecasting, margins, and percent complete.
• Experience negotiating and managing contracts with clients and subcontractors.
• Deep technical expertise in one or more specialized domains.
• Experience using PM tools and software as a central part of communication and planning.
• Familiarity with evaluating regulatory, technical, and financial risk for go/no-go decisions.
