Tasks/Responsibilities
- Performs day-to-day management of the project, identifies issues and risks, and recommends possible issue and risk mitigation strategies associated with the project;
- Acts as a facilitator between a State agency and an IT contractor. Is responsible for ensuring that work performed under TOs is within scope, consistent with requirements, and delivered on time and on budget.
- Identifies critical paths, tasks, dates, testing, and acceptance criteria;
- Provides solutions to improve efficiency (e.g., reduce costs while maintaining or improving performance levels);
- Maintains up-to-date status reports.
Education
- A degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or other related discipline;
- A master's degree or project management certification is preferred.
General Experience
- At least five (5) years of experience in project management;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Capable of negotiating and making binding decisions in the best interest of the project.
Specialized Experience
- At least five (5) years of experience in managing IT-related projects;
- A leadership role in at least three (3) successful projects that were delivered on time and on budget;
- Direct project experience managing or supporting a designated Major IT Development Project (MITDP) within a State Government framework is highly preferred;
- Proven track record of managing enterprise data tracking systems, immunization registries, or Immunization Information Systems (IIS);
- Experience driving provider experience improvements, electronic health record (EHR) data interfaces, and maintaining compliance with federal funding requirements;
- Proven track record of managing large-scale, enterprise-level Case Management Systems or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms within a healthcare or social services environment;
- Familiarity with government assistance programs, grant-funded healthcare support systems, or infectious disease/pharmaceutical support programs.
