About the role
A Project Manager, Level III for Hedrick Brothers Construction is responsible for leading and managing projects to meet operational goals while ensuring quality, integrity, and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Work with preconstruction team on estimating activities, including cost estimates, subcontractor participation, value engineering, constructability issues, and owner proposals.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, plans, and specifications using ProCore.
- Develop and manage specialty contractor and material supplier scopes of work.
- Negotiate, create, and process subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Provide monthly progress reports, including construction schedules and cost projections.
- Review and approve field cost expenditures.
- Manage potential change orders, change order requests, and other related documents.
- Process and manage owner and subcontractor pay requests.
- Aggressively manage the project punch list.
- Maintain positive communication with office, owner, architect, and inspectors.
- Perform unsolicited follow-up with past clients during and after the warranty period.
- Monitor and maintain project safety and quality standards.
- Close out projects financially and provide cost reports within 30 days of final inspection.
- Conduct a warranty walk-through 10 months after substantial completion approval.
- Collaborate with the Virtual Design and Construction department to address clash detection, constructability issues, and layout and routing paths.
- Directly supervise Superintendents, Subcontractors, Vendors, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Administrators.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- OSHA30 certification required.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and ProCore preferred.
- Reliable transportation and a valid Florida Driver License required.
Physical Demands
- Sit with back at a 90-degree angle for up to 8 hours per day.
- Stand upright for up to 4 hours at a time.
- Navigate a construction site, including uneven walkways, crawl spaces, etc.
- Understand and communicate effectively in English, both orally and in written form.
- Full dexterity of wrists and fingers is required with repetitive motions.
- Occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly lift, push, pull, or carry up to 15 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Occasionally lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend, or stand on a stool as necessary.
