Project Manager I, Transmission (Hybrid Schedule)

About the role

Manage low- and medium-risk transmission projects in Massachusetts to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Assigned projects are multi-disciplined, requiring close collaboration with personnel across Eversource to engineer, design, site, permit, and construct projects. Responsibilities include securing approval for permits and licenses, budgeting materials, contractors, and other resources. Regular travel to Cambridge is required to support the Greater Cambridge Energy Project.

This role supports hybrid work schedules, with employees required to work at least three days in the office (including Tuesdays and Wednesdays). The third in-office day is determined by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. Employees must be available to work up to five days in the office for emergencies, training, or other business needs.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple low- and medium-risk transmission projects concurrently, including ownership of project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Oversee all project phases (planning, executing, controlling, and close-out) using standard templates and project management processes.
• Secure approval for permits, licenses, budgets, materials, contractors, and other resources.
• Monitor and report on project management metrics, including quality, technical specifications, reliability, schedule, and budget.
• Plan work to ensure optimal integration and coordination of internal and external resources, and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Determine project assignments, timetables, and responsibilities for project team members.
• Maintain and monitor project progress via reporting of schedule milestones, changes, cost, and resource adjustments.
• Provide clear, concise, and comprehensive project status reports and ensure documentation aligns with company policies and regulations.
• When assigned, manage segments or tasks of larger or high-profile projects as directed by senior project managers.
• Communicate status updates on assigned tasks or project segments to the Project Manager as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred), Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electric utility construction or project management.
• Knowledge of project management techniques and tools, including project management software.
• Knowledge of design and construction of electric transmission and distribution facilities and equipment.
• Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Pay

Annual salary range: $108,460.00–$120,510.00. This position is eligible for a potential incentive.
