About the role
Positions in this class of work perform professional work in planning, organizing, managing, implementing and evaluating projects according to project management principles and methods. Projects managed by positions in this class are complex and require one to navigate through various issues and project constraints by applying general policies and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Determine project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, costs, and resources.
- Lead project teams.
- Administer budgets and contracts.
- Track project progress to ensure milestones are met on time.
- Develop and implement mechanisms to evaluate project successes and areas in need of improvement on an on-going basis.
- Recommend and facilitate changes to project processes to ensure desired outcomes and deliverables.
Requirements
- Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience planning, directing, managing, monitoring, and evaluating projects.
- Such experience must include determining project goals, scope, deliverables, timelines, costs, and resources; leading project teams; administering budgets and contracts; tracking project progress to ensure that milestones are met on time and within budget; documenting project progress; and identifying metrics for project evaluation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
Skills
- Ability to define project goals and scope.
- Proficiency in project management principles and methods.
- Experience in leading project teams.
- Knowledge of budget administration and contract management.
- Ability to track project progress and document project outcomes.
- Experience in evaluating project successes and identifying areas for improvement.
