Project Manager I, Light Industrial and Data Center Construction

About the role

The Project Manager will drive successful project results, ensuring projects are completed safely and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee project execution to ensure safety, lowest reasonable cost, and compliance with client documents and quality requirements.
• Organize and execute the project safety compliance program, initiate safety meetings, and interface with the client.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of contract documents, develop and analyze preliminary project documentation, organize and plan physical work, develop project schedules, and communicate/schedule with subcontractors and vendors.
• Recognize and address project progress impediments, prepare and submit informational documents, and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain strict project budget control, report monthly project progress and profitability, write subcontracts and purchase orders, review and approve invoices and change requests, and negotiate contract changes.
• Maintain open communication with support and business units, promote client goodwill, supervise project activities, participate in bidding, pre-construction services, budgeting, and Continuous Improvement Programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or a relevant discipline required.
• Familiarity with lump sum, unit price, and competitive bid environments.
• A proven ability to deliver Project Gross Margin on project assignments.
• A strong understanding of risk assessment policies and procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to inspire commitment, monitor performance, coach, and develop people, negotiate positive outcomes, create a collaborative environment, reduce liability, solve problems, and issues.
• Ability to travel to out-of-town assignments.
