Responsibilities

  • Makes independent decisions applying extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to the management of assigned projects.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with clients, including professional and social interactions with key home office and site individuals.
  • Serves as a liaison between the client and the company, identifying client needs and expectations, including upcoming major projects, and communicating these to the applicable individuals.
  • Communicates client feedback regarding work performance and facilitates implementation of process improvements, as appropriate.
  • Works with clients to address and resolve issues related to project scope changes, quality of services, cost, or schedule.
  • Collaborates with Discipline Engineering Managers and Account Managers to develop project scope, approach, technical assumptions, staffing, schedule, and pricing.
  • Maintains oversight of all ongoing projects, including monitoring budget, schedule, scope changes, review of deliverables relative to scope and client expectations, participation in company weekly schedule meetings, and preparation of monthly status reports.
  • Maintains contractual requirements, addresses and resolves contractual issues, initiates contract changes, and facilitates payment for services.
  • Reviews, approves, and corrects (as needed) invoices applicable to project work.
  • Understands and communicates to company staff client's processes and procedures, and facilitates training of company staff, when needed.
  • Coordinates and participates in the preparation of proposals for client work.
  • Manages, motivates, and organizes team members, communicating and providing technical direction and task assignments.

Qualifications

  • Education: BS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is required. MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is desired.
  • Experience: 10 years (minimum) of experience with design engineering, project management, and client relations is required. Experience with operating plant procedures, processes, budget analysis, and budget forecasting is required. Experience with managing, motivating, and organizing team members, communicating and providing technical direction and task assignments is required.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Power Point), effective time management skills, knowledge of and experience in project scheduling techniques, ability to understand and comply with company policies, procedures, processes, and financial obligations, ability to pass security and drug screening, and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access.
  • Other Qualifications: Professional Engineering registration (EIT or PE), and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are highly preferred.
