Project Manager - Healthcare
About the role
The Healthcare sector is seeking an experienced Project Manager with at least 10 years of post-graduate professional experience in the A/E industry, specializing in HCAI-permitted healthcare projects. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary A/E teams and managing project finances and risks.
Responsibilities
- Aid in the professional services proposal process and negotiation of agreements with clients.
- Lead and direct multi-disciplinary A/E teams throughout the project lifecycle, from programming to construction administration.
- Develop and implement project plans, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with project policies and procedures.
- Secure additional service fees and manage changes to project scope.
- Manage project budgets, staffing, and gather necessary owner-required data.
- Create and enforce contract forms for both owners and consultants, and oversee their implementation.
- Schedule and conduct design and technical reviews to maintain project quality.
- Oversee project teams during bidding and construction phases, adhering to Owner Agreement requirements.
- Participate in marketing efforts, including client maintenance, proposals, and interviews.
- Assist in the post-construction evaluation process.
- Guide and monitor the use of the HED Project Design Process by project teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering.
- Minimum ten years' post-graduate professional experience in the A/E industry.
- Minimum five years’ experience as an A/E or Client-Side Project Manager with direct responsibility for project financial and risk management.
- Professional Licensure.
- LEED Accreditation preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional A/E services from marketing through project close-out.
- Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the coordination of all design disciplines.
- Strong business acumen and proven ability to lead, motivate, and work effectively in a design-focused environment.
- Excellent writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible approach.
- Strategic outlook with attention to detail.
- Computer literate.
Skills
- Experience leading A/E Healthcare design/development, including HCAI-permitted projects, in California.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively.
- Capable of traveling to and from project sites, both locally and across the US.
- Visual acuity to perform responsibilities.
