About The Opportunity

A well-established construction and design-build firm is seeking an experienced Senior Federal Construction Project Manager to oversee and manage Federal construction projects from planning and implementation through successful completion. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of construction project management experience, with a strong background in Federal or government-related construction projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to established quality and compliance standards. The Project Manager will work closely with clients, government agencies, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Candidates must have already been vetted through HSPD-12 or currently hold a GSA HSPD-12 credential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute Federal construction projects in compliance with applicable Federal regulations, contract requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource requirements, and project milestones.
  • Manage projects from preconstruction through completion and closeout.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, government agencies, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Manage and oversee on-site construction activities, including scheduling, progress monitoring, quality control, and coordination.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work complies with project specifications, safety requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor project schedules and identify potential delays or issues; develop and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Identify, evaluate, and resolve project-related challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, expenses, cost control, and financial forecasts.
  • Review project documentation, specifications, drawings, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and other contract-related documents.
  • Prepare and present regular project status and progress reports to clients, government representatives, and senior management.
  • Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, motivate, and manage project teams to achieve project goals and maintain high performance.
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to project team members.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal construction requirements and applicable safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate project closeout, final inspections, documentation, and turnover.
  • Perform other project-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Construction Project Manager.
  • Significant experience managing Federal or government construction projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal construction regulations, requirements, codes, and compliance standards.
  • Strong understanding of construction project planning, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from planning through completion.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, subcontractors, and government stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and client relationship management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and project requirements.
  • Proficiency with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

HSPD-12 Requirement

Candidates must already have been vetted through HSPD-12 or currently hold a GSA HSPD-12 credential. Candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered for the position.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and significant Federal construction experience may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Federal design-build construction projects.
  • Experience working directly with Federal government agencies and representatives.
  • Experience with GSA, USACE, DoD, VA, DHS, or other Federal agencies is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Federal contract administration, project reporting, change orders, and compliance requirements.
  • PMP, OSHA, or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
