Project Manager – General Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our General Construction team. The Project Manager will ensure the successful execution of multiple construction projects by managing project personnel, subcontractors, purchasing activities, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Monitor and forecast project budgets, staffing, and cost to complete.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing, reporting, and project documentation.
  • Manage owner and subcontractor change order processes.
  • Ensure timely subcontractor payments and oversee vendor relationships.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Create and manage master project schedules and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Review contracts, change orders, purchase orders, and invoices for accuracy.
  • Monitor project performance and ensure compliance with established procedures.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and assign project responsibilities.
  • Issue purchase orders to subcontractors and vendors.
  • Review and approve subcontractor and vendor invoices.
  • Support and monitor project-specific safety programs.
  • Identify project successes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide strategic oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in project presentations, proposals, and business development efforts.
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate project team members.
  • Coordinate project closeout documentation and final project summaries.
  • Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor bids for scope, pricing, and completeness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of construction industry experience.
  • Previous experience managing commercial or general construction projects.
  • Experience with project budgeting, labor and equipment cost estimating, and subcontractor bid analysis.
  • Strong understanding of construction management, architecture, or engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Coachable with a collaborative mindset.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Experience purchasing and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers is preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours as required to support project schedules.
