About the role

This position will manage commercial projects for retail, multi-family, state and federal, military, gaming, and hospitality sectors. As the company’s primary client contact, you will ensure quality service and maintain positive client relationships. You will oversee subcontractors, make key technical, cost, scheduling, and performance decisions, and provide field construction oversight during project implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the safety culture for the project.
  • Control costs and maintain project profitability using heavy construction experience.
  • Manage field construction, engineering, and other project support activities.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.
  • Review cost reports and analyze data to reduce costs and improve productivity.
  • Establish and review project labor requirements with divisional management.
  • Conduct regular project inspections and advise on work progress, quality, and safety conditions.
  • Coordinate subcontractor work to ensure alignment with project scope and specifications.
  • Administer project policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with architects, inspectors, and client representatives to resolve project issues.
  • Conduct safety meetings and assist supervision in addressing safety concerns.
  • Monitor project compliance with company and regulatory procedures.
  • Oversee project purchasing to ensure quality materials, timely delivery, and competitive costs.
  • Hold regular meetings with project supervision to review progress and plan future activities.
  • Determine construction equipment needs and ensure proper maintenance.
  • Oversee quality control for the project.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of commercial construction management experience.
  • Experience managing medium to large projects ($20M+).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent prioritization, organizational, and detail-oriented abilities.
  • Proficiency in BIM, Primavera, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to organize project teams and achieve project goals.
  • Effective negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of construction disciplines.
