Project Manager for In-service Bridge Inspection

The salary range for this position is $105,350.41 - $158,025.63.
Responsibilities
- Manage bridge inspection projects for state and local agencies to ensure compliance with the National Bridge Inventory System.
- Work with public and private clients on non-NBI structures such as culverts and pedestrian bridges.
- Lead a variety of in-service inspection efforts across the Pacific Northwest, including port and marine structures, water and wastewater facilities, dams, and irrigation infrastructure.
- Manage bridge and structural design or construction engineering management projects if applicable.
- Develop and execute project schedules that balance client needs and internal capacity.
- Schedule and lead internal and external project meetings to maintain project progress.
- Coordinate with resource managers to ensure adequate staffing is assigned to projects.
- Prepare scope of work and fee breakdowns that result in financial success for the firm.
- Monitor project financials, burn rate, and earned value and take appropriate action to make adjustments as needed.
- Identify and manage project changes (scope, schedule, budget, project team, client team).
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts by meeting with clients and teaming partners, identifying leads for future work, and collaborating on proposal and win strategies.
- Communicate with clients, teaming partners, and contractors to ensure client satisfaction.
- Respond to urgent project needs that require immediate on-site presence.
- Visit job sites to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure quality control.
- Attend stakeholder meetings, public hearings, and industry events that support project development.
- Travel to municipal offices or partner organizations for permitting, documentation, and coordination.
- Ensure compliance with driving requirements and maintain reliable transportation for effective project management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 6+ years of experience as a Project Manager, or 5+ years with an advanced degree
- PE certification (depending on discipline)
- Certified Bridge Inspection Team Lead according to CFR 650.309
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record

- Clear understanding of project-related technical terms and fundamentals
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to quickly assimilate complex technical information and make informed decisions
- Advanced understanding of managing single-discipline projects and a basic understanding of managing aspects of multidisciplinary projects
- High level of technical proficiency
- Trusted leadership and guidance to less experienced team members as necessary
