Responsibilities
- Oversight of electrical services jobs involving inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, performing start-up, and collecting data of low, medium, and high voltage (up to 500kV) electrical systems.
- Moderately complex relay calibration and power metering.
- Pre-planning, walk-through, and working with the sales department on estimating and quoting jobs.
- Identifying and assigning individual job assignments to crew members.
- Interface with customers throughout jobs and attend customer meetings as needed to provide updates, progress status, and resolve issues.
- Identifying opportunities for expanded job scope and discussing these with customers and account managers.
- Communicating with assigned account managers on any additional billing.
- Maintaining job budgets by reviewing each technician's job time and material costs.
- Conducting final job walks with customers before energizing, discussing job scope, and ensuring successful start-up.
- Completing, compiling, and reviewing reports for accuracy and providing them to the production manager.
- Rotating emergency on-call duty and responding to customer emergencies in a timely manner if called.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Power or similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee) preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in project managing electrical maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, or switchgear commissioning.
- Experience with Doble software, automated CT set, Power DB, RTS or Protest relay testing, oil testing, infrared scanning, automatic transfer switching, performing start-up on switchgear up to 500kV class, VFD (variable frequency drives).
- NETA Certification a plus, but not required.
- General PC skills including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with PowerDB a plus.
- OSHA 30 hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training a plus; training on each can be provided by Shermco.
- Ability to work safely and adhere to all electrical safety procedures.

Pay
Pay Range: USD $45.00 - USD $60.00 /Hr.
Schedule
Rotates emergency on-call duty.
