About the role

The Project Manager/Estimator plans and manages multiple projects assigned by the Senior Project Manager, including interoffice projects on a larger, more complicated scale. This role provides leadership, mentoring, and training to staff, offers technical guidance, and ensures project success from inception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to staff; offer technical guidance and review project progress.
  • Manage projects end-to-end, including coordination meetings with clients and site visits for change orders or contract estimates.
  • Prepare computations, proposals, budgets, contracts, and financial controls for assigned projects; administer contracts and manage profit and loss.
  • Perform field calculations, plan alterations, and use computer programs to illustrate project specifications.
  • Estimate costs, work schedules, and prepare monthly billings and progress reports.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and present technical reports at community forums or selection interviews.
  • Review and analyze structural and civil plans; communicate deadlines and responsibilities to team members.
  • Attend technical seminars and conferences to enhance expertise and for marketing purposes.
  • Track and log opportunities across multiple databases; use Salesforce for project and client tracking.
  • Perform related duties and special assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management/estimating experience, preferably in construction materials testing and special inspection.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent oral and written communication ability.
  • General computer expertise, including word processing software and project management tools.

Physical and Other Requirements

  • Primarily works in a standard office environment.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk, and listen; occasionally required to walk, use hands, and reach with arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires close vision to read hand-printed materials and computer documents.
  • Operation of telephone, personal computer, and copy machine is required.
  • Current valid driver’s license and ability to travel by automobile around the state as needed.
