Project Manager / Estimator

About the Role

A Project Manager / Estimator in Pittsburgh's commercial construction sector is responsible for both pre-construction bidding and managing the full project lifecycle. This dual role involves generating accurate cost estimates and takeoffs, buying out trades, and managing budgets, schedules, and client relations for local vertical builds such as tenant fit-outs, offices, and institutional facilities.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and Bidding:
  • Analyze architectural and structural blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Perform detailed material, labor, and equipment quantity takeoffs.
  • Solicit, level, and scope vendor and subcontractor proposals.
• Project Management:
  • Lead internal turnover meetings from estimating to field operations.
  • Build project schedules and manage site logistics.
  • Oversee subcontracts, process change orders, and track project financials and billing.
• Communication:
  • Liaise with Western Pennsylvania architects, engineers, owners, and local subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements

• Experience: 3 to 7+ years of combined commercial construction estimating and project management experience within the regional market.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in blueprint reading, local building code familiarity, and expertise with takeoff/estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift, Sage) alongside MS Excel.
• Education: Degree in Construction Management.

$75,000 - $90,000 per year plus benefits.
