About the role
This role is open across any of our office locations (Galway, Dublin, Sligo, Castlebar or Limerick) on a hybrid basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of project delivery while contributing to high-profile environmental and planning projects across a range of sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead the EIA process or support Senior Project Managers/Technical Directors depending on project complexity
- Manage the technical and financial delivery of EIARs, PECRs, and other environmental outputs
- Provide environmental expertise to ensure compliance with planning and environmental regulations
- Stay up to date with planning legislation, policy updates, and local authority development plans
- Liaise with clients, project teams, subconsultants, stakeholders, and the public
- Plan and programme projects, including resource allocation in collaboration with senior team members
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements, including Health & Safety and risk assessments
- Manage project cash flow, invoicing, and financial forecasting
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with clients and internal teams
- Ensure all work complies with TOBIN’s Quality Management Systems (QMS/EMS/OHSAS)
- Establish and manage project programmes with clients
- Cookordination internal teams and subconsultants, ensuring clarity on roles, budgets, and timelines
- Ensure adherence to company procedures for subconsultants
- Oversee quality assurance, ensuring all outputs are produced and checked to a high standard
- Monitor and manage project scope changes, communicating impacts to clients
Requirements
- Level 8 Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related discipline (Level 9 desirable)
- Typically 5+ years’ relevant experience in environmental planning or EIA
- Proven experience leading environmental reports and managing multidisciplinary teams
- Strong understanding of EIA processes and Irish planning legislation
- Experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, or SID projects is advantageous
Qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body and working towards chartership (desirable)
- Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality project delivery
