About the Opportunity
We're seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial electronic security projects throughout the Detroit area. In this role, you'll lead projects from kickoff through closeout, coordinating field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to ensure high-quality installations are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in systems integration who enjoys managing complex projects while serving as the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams.
What You'll Do
- Manage commercial security projects from project kickoff through final completion.
- Coordinate field technicians, subcontractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Review project scope, drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to develop installation plans and schedules.
- Oversee procurement of equipment and materials to support project timelines.
- Monitor project budgets, schedules, labor utilization, and overall profitability.
- Manage project documentation including RFIs, change orders, submittals, billing support, and project closeout documentation.
- Conduct site visits to monitor installation quality, resolve field issues, and maintain project progress.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates and ensuring a positive client experience.
- Coordinate system commissioning, customer training, and final project turnover to the service team.
- Collaborate with estimating and sales teams on project transitions and support future business opportunities when needed.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of project management experience within the commercial electronic security, low-voltage, or systems integration industry.
- Experience managing projects involving access control, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, and integrated security systems.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction processes, project scheduling, and job cost management.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Experience managing subcontractors, field technicians, and multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and customer relationship skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and project management software.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites throughout the Detroit metropolitan area.
