About the role
The Electrical Project Manager at CR Meyer is responsible for contributing to the success of the company and its heavy industrial customers throughout the planning, budgeting, construction, and post-construction phases of electrical construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Ensures all project goals or objectives are accomplished within CR Meyer’s safety guidelines and designated quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Provides leadership to the project team and works with all interested parties to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Works collaboratively with heavy industrial/manufacturing customers and the CR Meyer Design/Build team to estimate and execute electrical construction projects.
- Prepares and provides bids to customers using approved design specifications, follows up with customers on bid proposals, and executes all paperwork to secure project commitments.
- Establishes budgets, timelines, and overall goals for electrical construction project execution, and leads the risk control plan implementation.
- Obtains all necessary permits and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conducts routine site visits for plan implementation, reviews budget status, determines progress, communicates with the on-site team, and ensures safety and compliance standards.
- Develops the project team to include subcontractors and vendors, schedules, and manages their services, and ensures all assigned equipment, tools, supplies, and other resources are available for the job.
- Prepares purchase orders for all project-related expenses, oversees and approves labor hours, expense sheets, invoices, and is responsible for receivables management.
- Communicates with the customer, project team, field staff, subcontractors, and all other interested parties to ensure construction projects stay within specifications, schedule, and budget until completion.
- Tracks and communicates productivity factors with the site leadership team or site supervision, documents productivity factors for future reference, and uses CR Meyer provided software to prepare required documents and project management updates.
- Ensures that the proper QA/QC standards and procedures required for the project are implemented and within CR Meyer guidelines.
- Works with the Design/Build team on “means and methods” engineering controls.
- Oversees the preparation of the final project punch list for customer review and ensures it is properly completed.
- Documents completed projects for future reference.
- Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times.
Requirements
- Five to ten years of experience in estimating and managing large-scale electrical construction projects, with an emphasis on equipment installation/erection.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred, but a combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and project management software.
- Ability to complete all CR Meyer training and perform job duties within safety guidelines, including but not limited to First/Aid-CPR Certification, OSHA 30 and SafeStart.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screening and comply with CR Meyer’s Drug & Alcohol Policy and Program.
- Valid driver’s license, insurable driving history, and ability to operate a motor vehicle following all traffic laws and safe, courteous driving habits.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Ability to travel to various project sites within the United States required.
