Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of curriculum design, revision, and publication in alignment with VA TAP program goals
- Supervise instructional designers, editors, and content reviewers
- Cook up curriculum development timelines and ensure content aligns with VA policies and transition priorities
- Oversee Section 508 accessibility compliance and coordinate remediation efforts as needed
- Establish and manage curriculum review boards, including VA and interagency participants
- Ensure consistent formatting, voice, and branding across all TAP materials
- Collect and incorporate feedback from facilitators, participants, and VA stakeholders to refine curriculum
- Track curriculum versions, approvals, and distribution through internal control systems
- Collaborate with training, quality, and delivery teams to support program fidelity
- Maintain up-to-date awareness of policy changes affecting content and recommend updates
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages subordinate employees, along with potential vendor support and matrix staff
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of their team
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in the field of curriculum development and instructional system design
- 5+ years of experience managing curriculum development projects and programs, including course materials, scripts, exercises, classroom or self-study manuals, and other instructional aids
- Relevant experience in managing multiple day training programs that include design and implementation of course material and coordinating multiple location travel
- 3+ years’ experience managing, staffing and overseeing geographically dispersed teams
- Prior experience working on VA TAP contract
- Proven leadership in instructional design and adult education environments
- Knowledge of accessibility standards including Section 508 compliance
- Strong project management, content development, and team supervision skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and project management tools
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Valid passport (or ability to obtain one)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working on VA TAP contract
- Prior military service or direct experience supporting TAP, VA, or military transition programs
- Master’s degree in education, instructional technology, or related field
- Certification in instructional design, such as ATD or CPTD
- Experience with SharePoint, TMS 2.0, or LMS platforms
Other Requirements
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance
- This position requires access to U.S. Government facilities and systems
- U.S. Citizenship, a valid driver's license, transportation, and auto insurance are required
